Methods
of resource Conservation. General Processes of Resource Conservation.
What is Resource Conservation?
The meaning of the word 'conservation' is that the supply of things is less than the need, to save some for the future. And in order to store that rare thing for the future, we need to use it well-planned, prudent and efficient now. So that short-sighted work in the present corner cannot deprive future people of resources. For this reason, the responsibility of the people of the present time is very much to save the resources. Professor Zimmermann says that the control of the vagabond for future generations is called conservation. In his words, “Conservation is any act reducing the rate of consumption or exhaustion for the avowed purpose of benefiting posterity.” however, is not saved by mere renunciation.
It is pertinent to mention that the concept of
production and distribution of resources has changed over and over again with
the passage of time. Because the
geographical distribution and amount of resource is everywhere, not always
equal. For example, India is a
manganese-rich country but the United States is not. Again, Saudi Arabia is a country rich in
mineral oil but not India. Resources
change quantitatively over time. For
example, in the early twentieth century, Britain had an important place in coal
production, but due to the extraction of excess coal, Britain today has become
a poor country in terms of coal resources.
Thus, in the opinion of Britain, the study, development and conservation
of resources is necessary so that the situation does not become that of India
or any other country.
General
Processes or methods of Resource Conservation:
There are many types of resource conservation
methods. There is not one or two
specific methods in this work corner.
Because there are different types of resources and the methods of
preserving the resources of these different characters in a proper way are also
different. Resource cannot be preserved
without a proper idea of the nature of the resource and its distribution. The main methods used to conserve resources
are summarized below: Mineral oil, coal, forest resources, etc.
(1)
To balance the production and consumption of resources: For example, the various elements of our daily
needs mineral oil, coal, forest resources, etc., are constantly being
exhausted. Therefore, in order to
properly conserve these resources, it is essential to maintain equality between
their production and distribution.
(2) Influential resources can be saved by using flowing resources instead of stored
resources: For example, reserves such as coal and mineral oil
can be protected by using flowing resources such as wind power, wind, etc. for
power generation.
(3)
Human participation in the conservation of resources and the use of top-down
and bottom-up methods. Without people's participation, success
in conservation cannot come. Public
participation can be ensured in two ways.
Namely
(a)
Top-Down method.
The government uses certain resources according to this method. The administration has to implement according
to the directed plan. For example:
Government grant plans to popularize the use of solar energy.
(B)
Bottom-up method.
In this way, the common man is directly involved in the implementation
of the plan. For example: Joint Forest Management.
(4) Use of fund resources on the basis of
priority. That is,
that resource is depleted from the earth.
It is good to be able to identify them and restrict their use. For example, it would be possible to save
mineral oil for a few more days by using solar energy instead of using mineral
oil for all purposes.
(5)
Resource can be saved by reducing the excessive use of the products which are
declining in supply. For example: to reduce the use of wood
and save the forest.
(6) Proper use of technical knowledge and
prevention of wastage of resources through appropriate practical techniques. This protects the resources. For example - scooter, motorbike, motor car
engine (four stroke engine) as a result of the improved fuel can go far and
less waste of petrol, diesel.
(7) Preservation of resources through planned
imports. For example,
the United States is trying to protect its oil resources by importing mineral
oil from the Middle East.
(8) To conserve resources by increasing social
awareness. For example,
I have reduced the use of wood and replaced it.
Demand for wood can be reduced by using substitutes such as bait and in
some cases plastic and polythene. Level
politics needs to follow the path of sustainable development.
(9)
To preserve resources through political goodwill. In this case, state, national and
international - anywhere.
(10)
To conserve resources by increasing the effectiveness of any object or
substance. Advanced
technology is helpful in this regard.
(11)
Proper use of recyclable resources. For example, the demand of iron ore can be
reduced by using broken pieces of iron and steel or scrap.
(12)
Increase the excellence of technical techniques. For example, in 1930, 1.63 tons of fine coal
was required to produce one ton of iron, but now 0.8 tons of fine coal is
required to produce the same amount of Iron.
(13)
Wars and other social unrest were stopped and efforts were made to save
resources. This is a
welfare method.
