constructed by people rather than formed by nature. It is generally formed for
infrastructure, tourism and industry purpose.

1. The Palm Island, United Arab Emirates
The palm islands or palm trilogy in Dubai
are three artificial islands built on the coast of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The three islands include – Palm Jumeirah, Deira Islands and Palm Jebel Ali. Out
of the three palms, Jumeirah has been completed. Palm Jumeirah is like a playground
for shopping malls, entertainment facilities, lavish hotels, theme parks and
spectacular homes. Because of their magnificence, the palm islands are also
referred to as the 8th wonder of the world.
2. The Pearl Islands, Qatar
The pearl island is one of the best man-made
islands in the world. It is located in Dona, Qatar. Everything about the island
is luxurious. Full of plus residential complexes, extravagant hotels, high-end dining,
shopping entertainment and a variety of international cafes and restaurants. It
is expected to have 45,000 people will live on the island with thousands more
vacationing and visiting every year.
3. Flevopoldar Island, Netherlands
Flevoland is one of the largest man-made islands with land reclamation in
the world. The island consists of two polders- eastern Flevoland and southern Flevoland, while most man-made islands are constructed by using materials from elsewhere but Flevopolder used the land that
is already there, the island was formed by removing the water around it and then dikes were formed to protect it from
flooding. the island is home to more than 4 lakh people. It has a number of
museums and a lively shopping district.
4. Hulhumale, Maldives
Hulhumale was constructed in order to house
the growing population of this region as well as meet the industrial and
tourist development of the country. It is a modern and vibrant island with
environmentally green architecture. The island is home to one of the first
smart cities. The beautiful homes Lavis hotels and pristine white beaches make
it a popular tourist destination.
5. Notre Dame Island, Canada

This island can be found in the Saint Lawrence River of Montreal and Quebec.
The artificial Island is home to one of the formula one Canadian Grand Prix
which is one of the biggest motor races. It was built in 1965 and is also home
to a variety of Casinos, Ice Skaters and an attraction for tourist who visits Canada. Because its gorgeous location Notre Dame Island is one of the best man-made islands in Canada. And it is worth visiting when you are in North America.
6. Amwaj Island, Bahrain
Bahrain is home to a group of
beautiful man made islands called the Amwaj Islands which have different
sections. It has impressive things like an inbuilt floating city, the central
lagoon which is the commercial center of the island. It also consist of residential,
commercial, hotel and retail buildings.
7. Thums Island, California
Thums Island is a series of Islands
that were built in 1964 situated off long beach in California. These Islands
were built to facilitated oil drilling in the area. This name is derived from 4
companies involved in building the island. The islands were made from 600
boulders and 3.2 million cubic yards of materials was brought to filled island.
8. Uros Floating Island, Peru
It is located at an altitude of above
4000m above sea level in the Lake Titicaca off the city of Puno. The people of
Uros from the Inca civilization lived here. The Uros harvested the Reeds
bundled them together tightly and built floating island platforms. Each Island
has a collection of simple reed houses. Making this Island to the list of the
most amazing man made Islands.
9. The World, United Arab Emirates
The World is an artificial archipelago
of three hundred small islands composed mainly of sands dredged from the shallow
coastal waters to be constructed in the shape of World map. The Islands are yet
not complete.
10. Venetian Island, Miami
Venetian islands are a chain of artificial
Islands. It is located in city of Miami (Florida). It is well situated and
beautiful locations, lots of activities and parks, waterways add to its
attraction.
